The "C" in ACTS stands for CONFESSION. The word confess means "to agree with." One of the hardest things to do sometimes is to agree with someone when WE are wrong. When we confess our sins, we agree with God that we are wrong and that we have sinned against Him by our actions, thought or words. But our God is a loving and forgiving God. He will forgive us of our sins and restore our fellowship with him.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9
Lord, We have sinned. We confess that we are sinners....
This is something that was taught to my my youth group when I was about 13 years old. I still remember it to this day. It’s not a “rule book” as much as a tool to remind us that He deserves more than just a quick chant or planned out prayer. He deserves ALL of us. Prayer time is precious. Just like our wonderful creator. I love that not only has He given us the chance to gain a personal relationship with Him, but he WANTS THAT FOR US!
